Sign up, sign in, done

Soon you won't run a server at all. Install the small me app with winget or npm, run setup, and sign in with your Microsoft account in the browser. Setup then walks you through connecting your accounts and, if you like, your computer.

Windows (x64 and ARM64), Linux x64 and macOS on Apple silicon. Not available yet.

Install from source on Windows

What you need

  • Windows 10 or 11 and PowerShell 7
  • Podman with a running machine and podman compose (runs Postgres and the Temporal workflow engine)
  • The .NET 10 SDK and git
  • Early access to the source code: ask us

Install

  1. Run the installer

It builds the server and plugins, starts Postgres and Temporal in Podman, and registers the server to start at logon. Re-running it after an update keeps your data and secrets. Then put the me CLI on your PATH, as the installer prints at the end.

    PowerShell
    > pwsh deploy/local/install.ps1
    > [Environment]::SetEnvironmentVariable("Path", [Environment]::GetEnvironmentVariable("Path", "User") + ";$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Me\cli", "User")
    > $env:Path += ";$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Me\cli"

  2. Create your workspace and sign in

Setup creates your workspace (a company or your personal one) and you as its owner, and prints a one-time token. me login reads it from the pipe, so it never shows on screen.

    PowerShell
    > $o = & "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Me\server\Me.Server.exe" setup --tenant "Acme" --owner "You" | Select-String '"secret"'
    > ($o.Line | ConvertFrom-Json).secret | me login --server http://127.0.0.1:5041 --token-stdin
    > me plugin enable --all
    # run it again after a minute if me plugin list shows one missing
    > me whoami

  3. Connect your assistant

Add Me to Claude Code as an MCP server and install the skill that teaches it Me's rules.

    PowerShell
    > claude mcp add me -- "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Me\cli\me.exe" mcp
    > me skill install

  4. Connect your accounts

me integration list shows every provider and its settings. Add one, type its secret at the hidden prompt or sign in in your browser, and Me checks it before saying yes.

    PowerShell
    > me integration list
    > me integration add com.me.model.anthropic --name Claude
